I’ve Been Saying For Years I Need This

image

Five Free Things to Do Right Now

image The economy sucks, so does sales for many internet businesses these days. If you own an internet business do these 5 things right now.

1) Take a keyword phrase that relates to your business and put it into an article, make it the headline of the article as well as include it a dozen or so times in the article itself. When finished writing it submit the article to Ezine Articles for free.

2) Take the same keyword phrase and register a blog on Blogger.com for free with the keyword as the title of your blog, this will be the new place to post all the info about your company. This only works if you post regularly, so post regularly.

3) Sign up for a free trial with iContact so you can email people that read your blog and article on a regular basis. Once signed up create a list, title it something like “readers of my stuff” and then create an autoresponder to associate with that list. The autoresponder can be short, create 2 messages to start, the first thanking people for joining and the second offering some valuable information on your niche, if you sell oranges, tell em how to make orange juice with nothing but a paper towel and a steak knife.

4) Take an hour or two and visit a site that lists free high page rank directories, like this one, and submit your site to all the directories PR 4 or higher. Ignore those that claim this is no longer effective, a site of mine was created and submitted in this fashion and within a week ranked in the top 4 results on Google and now gets nearly 1k unique visitors a day, I know what I’m talking about here.

5) Rinse and repeat minus the iContact sign up, you only need to do that once. The other stuff will only become more effective when repeated on a regular basis. When you have a highly active blog, regular article postings, and regular high PR directory submissions you are in effect telling Google you are the expert in your niche, and thus you deserve the top spot in their natural search results for your keyword term.

Closet Design Lover

Knowing that I don’t like the uniform nature of most newer homes built in central South Carolina was the first sign I secretly love, and sometimes loathe design. Well maybe the first sign of it was back when I had that clothing store and in less than two years I had commissioned a hand blown steel “denim bar” that spanned over 4 ft tall and a table constructed entirely of SoCal redwood that prickles you every time you touch it. I guess those were the first indicators I was “into” design.

I can’t say I’ll ever start designing stuff myself, unless it is for, well, myself, but nonetheless I think I love design.

I was reminded of this yesterday when flipping through the Free Times I noticed an awesome spread on a home that sits about a mile from mine.

image

And then there was apartment therapy, probably my favorite new website, which I happened to stumble upon while reading about one of my favorite artists, Seonna Hong, and her impeccably designed crib.

image

Here is a pic of Seonna’s cool couch.

image

Which then led me to this picture below, which strikingly reminded me of an old motel bathroom I once showered in a few years back in North Myrtle Beach. Even though the motel left a lot to be desired, central air and a decent mattress most notably, it had the coolest shower. It was also pet friendly, because frankly I don’t think the rooms could get much more nasty no matter what a pet did to them. The difference here I think between the former bathroom design and the latter, is that the former was trying to be retro cool and the latter was just real old, and as my gal pal puts it, stinky.

image Here is a pic of that old motel sans the funky shower.

imageNext stop Michael’s craft shop, or Subway, or Starbucks, or bed.

It’s Saturday, so you’ll have to forgive the rant, I’m obviously bored over here.

Introducing Bundle Fun

An exciting new site is in the works, and as a loyal blog reader of mine you get first peak. It’s not totally done yet, but you’ll get a vibe for how cool this is going to be.

The site is called Bundle Fun, and in a nutshell it allows you to create custom packages of our countless services in a single shopping cart. Need a video, press release, and a custom newsletter? You can grab all of them at Bundle Fun and checkout on site. It also gives the buyer the option to pay with Google Checkout instead of PayPal, and allows for what is probably the coolest feature, monthly package creation. You can literally click a single button and have your order repeat monthly. How cool is that?

Bundle Fun launches just as soon as I finish adding all these products to the site.

Email Sent About Launch of Strange Business

Hi,

My highly anticipated book on internet marketing is now for sale! Learn just how I built a successful business online in the oddest of ways, and how others are doing the same on a daily basis in this awesome, right to the darn point, business book.

Get a free chapter and pick up a copy here:

http://strangebusinessbook.com/

Pretty much everyone that has read the book thus far has enjoyed it, many have told me they’ve passed it around the marketing department at their work. This isn’t just sales speak, I’ve got two dozen copies in the back of my truck that I’ve been handing out for about a month now. I’m not afraid to bribe people to read it and give me feedback. See what all the buzz is about here:

http://strangebusinessbook.com/

Happy Tuesday!

Clark

P.S. I got an email the other day from someone that says the only time she hears from me is when I’m trying to sell something. Its clever tactics like, selling stuff via email, that makes this book so good for those that like to make cold hard cash on the internet.

P.P.S. The book is $17.95 right now on Amazon, but you can get it in digital format for about 10 beans. Where else can you get a million dollar business plan for that price?

P.P.P.S. I had a guy that used to reply to all my list emails with cuss words about my sister (that I don’t have) and I finally removed him from my list. This alone is reason to send a new email to my list!

I’m thinking a lot about $10 services

In an economy as stank as the one we currently reside, I can’t help but think lower cost services are the best route for webmasters trying to make a buck online. I’m thinking a lot about our $10 SEO article service lately, and where that line of thinking can be applied elsewhere to provide value to the people of this great world.

I’ve also spent a considerable amount of time this week thinking about this special oceanfront resort in Fort Lauderdale I went to about a year ago. I wonder if they’ll rent me a room for $10?

Strange Business Website Up

Although the Amazon stock hasn’t fully reconciled yet, Strange Business the website is now live. I’m holding off on officially announcing the book is up for sale to my email list until Amazon properly discounts that puppy and reflects immediately available stock, which should happen any day now according to my distributor. If you want to read my 5 day autoresponder that is in my opinion some very slick stuff, opt-in on the site for the free chapter.

Organic Traffic Still Possible with No Promotion

I have a few sites that seem to get moderate to heavy traffic for literally no promotional effort. Below is a screenshot of my AdSense screen today, you’ll notice I had to take out a few figures so Google won’t kick me off. The point isn’t how much these sites make, rather it’s to show you how many impressions one of my sites is getting, with zero promotion.

image

Within the past 7 days I’ve received a whopping 1,340 impressions (most likely 99% of those are unique visitors) for a site I registered in November and have done nothing with since building it in a day.

Here is the registration info for the site according to GoDaddy:

Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com)
Domain Name: EUGENEOSMENT.COM
Created on: 20-Nov-08
Expires on: 20-Nov-09
Last Updated on: 04-Dec-08

The lesson here? Consider the concept of fresh organic traffic viable if you have the right niche, or at the very least a celebrity parent’s domain namesake.

Write Your Blogs in Live Writer

image

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon Windows Live Writer, which in essence is a super easy way to write and post blogs from your desktop. On top of better formatting, easier photo adding, and a slew of other benefits Live Writer offers, it now has plug-ins that are in a word, awesome. Live Writer plug-ins are to  a blog what iPhone apps are to the cell phone. Below I’ve highlighted a few of the cool plug-ins I’ll be utilizing in my own blog posts.

Two notes, first Live Writer is free, so download it HERE, you have nothing to lose. Second, I am showcasing only a small percentage of what Live Writer offers, dozens of plug-ins I am not featuring that you’ll just have to see to see for yourself HERE.

Instantly Insert a Map with a Single Click

The house I grew up in below, 11 Sturgis Rd, looks like a castle from this view.

Map picture

Copy and Paste a Picture Instantly

Anyone that has used Blogger or Wordpress as a online hosted platform knows it is a pain in the butt to get a picture uploaded quickly. When you use Live Writer you can copy a picture on your desktop, paste it into the blog instantly, and even resize it so it is the actual size you want it to be. This feature is PRICELESS! Here is a pic of Rufus from last night, CEO of my company.

Digg This

Easy way to get people to social bookmark your posts on Digg.

Tablet PC Recognition

I used my Bamboo tablet to write the message below, literally I click one button and it recognizes my tablet in the blog post, how cool is that?

Instantly Tag Your Blog

Help others find your stuff with instant tag implementation, like these I tossed in below.

Effortless Embed Video

Forget pasting code, just use the video plug-in to embed video into your blog with a click of a button, it even scales the size of the video to the size of your blog. This is our Resume Ape ad we shot a few weeks ago.

If Your Building a Website or Blog

Consider Dream Template, I signed up with them yesterday and feel like for the price it’s a bargain of epic proportions. You know your web developer is going to use a template anyways, you might as well give her better options…

Ryan Adams Show in Columbia, SC Was Cool

The thing I love most about the town I live in is how we are big enough to have decent shows come our way, but small enough to make them seem special, dare I say, intimate.

Every time I go to a show here I feel like I caught the band on a good night so to speak, even the bad seats are suddenly good. I go to a lot of concerts in Atlanta, and other places, Charlotte, and Charleston come to mind, but something about seeing concerts in Columbia, excuse the pun, rocks.

Minimal stage setup was refreshing, as was the CD quality set that lasted over 2 hours.

Everything Amazon

Because I’ve learned that Amazon is pretty much the top Web company alive today, and that everything Amazon does for the most part is good to be a part of as a publisher, I joined Amazon’s Prime program.

image

You pay a flat fee, I think it’s like $79, and get upgraded shipping throughout the  year. Not a bad revenue builder.

I was buying Ryan Adam’s new poetry book, more about him in a post or two, but needless to say Prime seems to live up to the hype. My one previous beef with Amazon was the ten to fifteen days it’d take to get a book shipped to my place, now it seems that that issue is resolved, only time will truly tell.

Email Sent Today About ACS Launch

image

Hi,

It’s back! After a successful trial run last year, my affordable consulting service is back and better than ever. While the trial run was far from perfect, I can’t think of a single client that I did not in some fashion help to make more money. Whether it was through a simple website critique, or a detailed analysis of what SEO techniques would work best for their niche, I was able to help them make more money, at least that’s what they tell me.

This year the package is new and improved, and I can’t wait to share all the details with you. I have to warn you we are doing a very small number of these packages, because frankly I still have a company to run and the idea of spending all day everyday on the phone with clients just won’t work. So please read this letter and seriously consider taking action right away.

The Improved Dish

Here is how my consulting package works, you pay a flat fee, and then fill out a short survey 1 time, and I spend the next 8 weeks calling you once a week to discuss your internet marketing, seo, publicity, and so forth. We try to set goals, meet those goals, and I do my best to offer as much pertinent experience driven information as I can.

This year’s package includes 1 hour weekly calls, which should give us plenty of time to get down and dirty with how you can make more money each day, sell more books, get more PR, etc.

Pricing

I was going to charge a flat fee of $2,500 as this seems to be about half the market rate for something like this, and it is enough to make it worthwhile for all involved. But before I set the “regular” price so to speak, I wanted to offer you a special price that is less than half the normal price!

For a limited time (weeks not months) the price is just $997 for 8 weeks of hour long one on one calls between us. This includes everything that you need for me to get into your business, look at what is being done, and look at how we can change things for the better.

Sometimes it’s as simple as starting a pay per click campaign, or tweaking a sales letter, or doing a press release, other times it’s more complex, as in doing SEO submissions, or working on building valuable links with article marketing. Whatever it may be, that flat fee of $997 is all you pay for 8 straight hour long weeks of consulting.

Bonus

As a member of my consulting program you will save 50% off ALL my seminars in 2009. Being that my next seminar, the Internet Marketing Mountain retreat will run well over 1k, you will save hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the course of a year on my seminars. Why? Because as a consulting client I want to give you as much incentive to be at the seminars as possible, so we can pick up where we left off on the phone, and work on your business face to face. Getting this discount alone makes this program a no brainer.

I’ve also included a special BAD ECONOMY payment plan for those that would rather spread the cost of the consulting over 4 months, this is my way of saying, you have no excuses, if you want to grow your business online this is an exceptionally affordable way to do it.

Limited Quantity

I’m only selling 30 of these packages, because that’s about all I can handle right now. I don’t know how long it will take to sell out, but it could sell out today, so if you want this package, get in on it now!

Read all about the service and sign up at the link below:

http://www.affordableconsultingservices.com/

Make sure you click Return to CERL after payment so you can fill out our new client survey, and once again, here’s to making your business more money in 2009!

http://www.affordableconsultingservices.com/

NOTE ALL PACKAGES PURCHASED THIS WEEK ARE BEING SCHEDULED FOR CALLS THIS COMING WEEK 3/16 – 3/20.

Thanks,

Clark

P.S. People ask all the time, how can we talk on a regular basis so I can pick your brain on all the things my company needs to do to make money online? Here is the answer, AFFORDABLE CONSULTING SERVICE is back, it’s meant exactly to meet that need.

P.P.S. When this program sells out, which will be very soon, I am jacking the price up to $2,500 and leaving it there for awhile, that will happen soon.

P.P.P.S. Remember only 30 people can get in on this package, that means it’s those that act the fastest that will get the opportunity to work with me, period, end of story.

First Look Good Morning Rockstar “Mug”

As I was in the process of designing the mug for our upcoming IM ROCKSTAR Rewards program I realized a strange thing, rocker types probably don’t drink their coffee out of mugs. Heck, they might not drink coffee period!

With some careful consideration I tossed the traditional 12 oz ceramic cup in the trash, and went with a real thirst quencher, a 32 ounce straight up rockstar approved goblet, known to drink enthusiasts as the stadium cup.

Peep the design, and yes, that font does look familiar!

imageThe fella crushing the guitar is our theme for the entire promotional package, which includes a shirt, book, bag, cup, jump drive, and VIP rewards card. Can you say best thing that has happened to IM since, well, IM?

The Guy That Invented the Web Sir Timothy Berners-Lee

In the middle of my research for two upcoming projects I found this incredible document.

It’s fair to say without the Web I’d be jobless, if not homeless, and certainly a less fulfilled person. God bless Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, and his short but brilliant speech to Congress is well worth the 10 or 15 minutes it’ll take to read.

Fresh This Week

It’s Monday and that means a new what’s coming up list. With corporate taxes due this weekend, and a few pending writing projects for clients, I had to scale this list down a bit from what I had hoped we’d be able to get done this week. That said, I’m feeling lucky to be alive, and plan on going as hard this week as always.

Affordable Consulting to Reopen

I’ve had a few people ask about this lately, so I guess it’s as good of time as ever to relaunch the program. I was going to raise the price to a flat fee of $2,5000 for about what I had listed on the site right now. But before I go there, I’m going to relaunch for a limited time at $1,000 for the whole shebang, I’m increasing call length to an hour a pop, and adding a special discount to attend any of my seminars in ‘09.

Sales Letter Writer to Reopen with Single Package

After a hiatus that admittedly was as much for football season as anything else, Sales Letter Writer is set to return this week. What I realized about this service was that no matter the size of the package people ordered I ended up spending about the same time on the work as any other of our packages. Thus my "single package” concept, where we’ll charge a single fee, less than 3k, and for that you get up to say 15 pages of a long form style sales letter written by yours truly.

First Look: Good Morning Rockstar Mug

The limited edition Good Morning Rockstar mug will be unveiled on the blog this week, all I have to say is, it’s about as cool as a coffee mug could be!

First Look: The Internet Marketing Lectures

As it’s namesake suggests, the IM lectures are going to be college lecture style audio study guides to building a profitable internet marketing business. The concept behind this is fairly simple, if you know the fundamentals of where internet marketing has been, where it is now, and where it is going, you then can profit from that knowledge on a regular basis by applying the principles to your own business.

I’m sure there are a few things I’m leaving out, but this should be a good starting point for this week.

Work At Home Book Preview

For about a year I’ve been working on a stealth project that I had nicknamed “hard work” because it was all about, you guessed it, working hard. I wanted to create a manifest for people to use when considering making money from home, how they could do it, what works, what doesn’t, and how with the right dose of hard work and consistency one can truly make a living from home. The whole work at home thing has been so overplayed by MLM pyramid scheming hucksters that I felt like giving a true-to-the-word guide at how to really do it could work. I happen to work with over 400 people that are home working professionals, so there was no shortage of people to quiz on what really works when it comes to working from home.

The other element here is showcasing our writing staff in a way that would allow them to publish some of their work. So I put two and two together and what emerged was The Recession-Busting Guide to Making Money Online From Home.

So here is the deal, I wrote the first 5 chapters on some work at home ideas and experiences I’ve had, and then commissioned 14 people from our writing staff to each write a chapter on what they knew worked when it came to pulling in profits from their house.

The book is done, the editor should have it polished off next week, and I’m using Amazon.com’s POD platform to get it online QUICK so it should be for sale very soon. I plan on retailing the Kindle edition for $1 and the paperback should be under $10.

First Look at the Contents:

I Usually Don't Do This But...

I try not to put my musical tastes on my blog much, since they are pretty odd, some might call them downright strange. In the morning and evenings I like ambient and every other time of the day I like hip hop and adult alternative. I know, I'm all over the map. So I spare you most of my musical favorites, but there is one guy I think is worth your attention.

Eric Hutchinson is his name. His hit song, Rock & Roll is often on one of my favorite local radio stations WXRY, and as it rang out over my speakers on the way back from some errands I decided enough was enough, I have to stop singing along to this song and take a minute to buy this album.

Long story short, this guy put his own CD out after Madonna's label went under, and it's incredible.

Strange Business Chapter 4

As promised here is Chapter 4 of Strange Business. This is the chapter that visitors to the upcoming SB website will get when they opt-in for my unconventional marketing tips. For my loyal blog readers, it’s free without the opt-in. Though I think you’d love what you will read in the autoresponder, I wrote it the other day and seriously wondered if I had crossed the line…
